Charles Jarrett Sr.

Charles R. Jarrett Sr. February 22, 1936-December 28, 2016 Mr. Charles R. Jarrett Sr., 80, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Wednesday December 28, 2016 at Indiana University Health La Porte Hospital in La Porte, IN. He was born February 22, 1936 in Emery, Arkansas, the son of Elmer Jarrett and Chloe (McCloud) Jarrett. Charles was retired from Howmet Corp. in 1999 and had work there for 22 years. He was a veteran of the US Army during the Korea Conflict. He was a member of the La Porte American Legion, P.N.A., and the P.R.C.U. both of La Porte. On May 13, 1978, in Kingsford Heights, IN, he married Evelyn M. Jarrett who survives. He is also survived by his two daughters, Christine Renee Jarrett, Carol (Tony) Lopez; five sons, Charles Ray Jarrett, Jr., William Austin Jarrett, Bobby Allen (Julaine) Jarrett, Jerry Dwayne (Darlene) Jarrett, David Martin; nineteen grandchildren and great grandchildren. Charles was preceded in death by his four brothers, Laverne Jarrett, Darrell Jarrett, Clifford Jarrett, and Harold Jarrett. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN where the family will receive friends Saturday, December 31, 2016, from 11:00 am, until time of service. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Saturday December 31, 2016 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Rick Martin, officiating. Interment will follow at the Patton Cemetery, LaPorte, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the Family of Charles R.
