Charles Howard

Mr. Charles L. Howard, 85, of 1900 Andrew Ave., LaPorte, Indiana passed away Friday June 25, 2004 at 4:28 a.m. in LaPorte. He had lived in the LaPorte area most of his life. Born February 16, 1919 in Garrett, Kentucky to Alonzo and Lissa Triplett Howard. Mr. Howard worked for Scott-Foreman in the shipping department for eighteen years. Also he was a past member of the American Legion Post #83 of LaPorte, veteran of US Army during WWII, and attended Landmark Missionary Baptist Church. Surviving is one brother; Alonzo Howard of LaPorte, Indiana and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death are his parents, one brother; Nero Howard, five sisters; Jeanetta Rose, Rosetta Zeigler, Minnie Johnson, Geneva Hunt and Virginia Stout. A funeral service will be at the Haverstock Funeral Home, 11:00 a.m. Monday June 28, 2004, with Rev. Royce Ford officiating. Friends may call Sunday from 4-8 p.m. and Monday 9:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be in the Tracy Cemetery, Hamlet, Indiana. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Charles L.
