Charles "Ron" Brown January 3, 1942-September 16, 2014 Mr. Charles "Ron" Brown, 72, of New Carlisle, Indiana, died Tuesday September 16, 2014 at Hamilton Communities, Inc. in New Carlisle, IN. He was born January 3, 1942 in LaPorte County, Indiana, the son of Paul Brown and Mable Irene (Bennitt) Brown. Charles worked as a heavy equipment operator for United Pavers and Midwest Operating Engineers Local 150. He enjoyed playing horseshoes and was involved with local tractor clubs, and loved animals. Charles was a farmer at heart and helped local farmers in the area after retirement. He was very active in 4-H and had a grand champion and champion steer, at the age of 17. On October 2, 1999, in Bowling Green, KY, he married Donna (Hoffer) Brown who survives. In November of 1962 in LaPorte, IN, he married Sheila (Terry) Brown, who preceded him in death. He is also survived by his two daughters, Kelly Brown of South Bend, IN, Amy Brown of South Bend, IN; two grandchildren, Shaun and Kaitlin McClain; and one sister, Glory Brewer of Surprise, AR. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, 1st wife, Sheila Brown., two brothers, Leroy Brown, and Jim Brown. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN where the family will receive friends Friday, September 19, 2014 from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Friday September 19, 2014 at 7:00 pm with Rev. Richard G. Blair officiating. Burial of Ashes will held at the Olive Chapel Cemetery, New Carlisle, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the Michiana Humane Society 722 Indiana Highway 212 Michigan City, IN 46360.
