Charles Ault, Sr.

Mr. Charles G. Ault, Sr., 95, of Valparaiso, Indiana, died Tuesday October 20, 2009 at his home in Valparaiso. He was born November 2, 1913 in Valparaiso, Indiana, the son of Charles Ault and Louise Jungjohan Ault, Charles lived in the Valparaiso area, all of his life. Charles worked at the Valparaiso Post Office has a postal clerk for twenty-one years, retiring in 1978. He enjoyed gardening and being outdoors. On January 17, 1942, in Yuma, AZ, he married Dorothy Severin, who preceded him in death September 16, 2002. He is survived by his two sons, Charles Clara-Companion Ault, Jr. of Mishawaka, IN, George Janice Ault of Valparaiso, IN; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, wife and half-sister, Louise Bertig. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Sunday, October 25, 2009 from 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm CST. There will be no services. Interment will be at the Union Mills Cemetery Union Mills, Indiana Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Valparaiso/Porter Co. or VNA of Porter Co.
