Charles Anderson

Mr. Charles R. Anderson, age 74, of La Porte, Ind., died Monday, May 12, 2008, at his home in La Porte, Ind. He was born June 1, 1933 in Hammond, Ind. to the late Samuel Anderson and the late Alice Beck Anderson. He has lived in LaPorte, Ind. for 22 years coming from Merrillville, Ind. Mr. Anderson was employed by State Farm Insurance as a superintendent; he retired in 1990 after 33 years of service. He was a member of Sons of American Legion of LaPorte. He served on the Pine Lake Conservancy District for a number of years. He was a loving father, husband, grandfather and enjoyed boating, fishing and bowling and was an avid walker. On April 22, 1978 in Merrillville, Ind. he married Janet Harms who survives. He is also survived by Two Daughters, Mrs. Karen Dwight Hoch of Lexington, Ky., Mrs. Kathy Art Gorman of Lexington, Ky. Six grandchildren Andy Hoch, Ali Hoch, Marissa Gorman, Jared Gorman, Shawn Hock, Heidi Hoch and Two nieces and two nephews. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, May 15, 2008 and from noon Friday until time of the service. Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc. at 1:00 PM Friday, May 16, 2008 , Bro. Ransom Ebersole officiating. Interment will be at Chapel Lawn Memorial Garden in Schererville, Ind.
