Charles Albertson Sr.

Mr. Charles F. Albertson, 82, of 3877 E 300 S, LaPorte, IN, died Sunday Feb. 15, 2004, at 11:48 p.m., at LaPorte Hospital, LaPorte, IN, and had lived here all of his life. He was born Aug. 24, 1921, in LaPorte, IN, to Alfred and Phoebe Lang Albertson. On April 20, 1942, in LaPorte, IN, he married Betty J. Parker, who survives. Also surviving are 5 daughters, Bet Igou of Scottsburg, IN, Roberta Galloway of Indianapolis, IN, Debbie Dueane Capron of LaPorte, IN, Judy Duensing of LaPorte, IN, and Marcia Wilbert Strefling of Port Charlotte, FL; four sons, Charles Lynn Albertson Jr., Robert Albertson Sr., John Albertson, and Rick Anjy Albertson Sr. all of LaPorte, Indiana. Preceding him death were his parents, one daughter Sandy Joe Okrzesik; one son, Ron Ginny Albertson Sr.; four sisters, and three brothers. Memorials may be made to the family of Charles F. Albertson Sr. Mr. Albertson had worked for Tucker Freight Lines, as a truck driver, for 32 years, retiring in 1978. After retirement, Mr. Albertson drove truck for Pavey's Execavating for 13 years , and Woodham Trucking for 2 years. He was a member of Teamsters Union Retirement Club, Teamsters Union Local #135, and Mr. Alberston loved driving trucks. The funeral will be Thursday, Feb. 19, 2004, at 2:00 p.m., at the Haverstock Funeral Home.
