Carol Ann Thompson February 4, 1951-June 8, 2015 Carol Ann Thompson, 64, of Las Vegas, Nevada, died Monday June 8, 2015 at Southern Hills Hospital Medical Center in Las Vegas, NV. She was born February 4, 1951 in La Porte, Indiana, the daughter of Henry Hallberg and Juanita (Houston) Hallberg. Carol was a loving mother, faithful friend and a compassionate nurse that treated her patients as if they were family. She will be remembered for writing poetry and short stories, being an avid reader and her love of unicorns. On September 21, 1990, she married her soul mate John Thompson who survives. She is also survived by her son, Thomas S. (Jo) Anderson of Fort Wayne, IN; two daughters, Victoria (Nick) Peracki of Wheeler, IN, and Jessica Thompson of Las Vegas, NV; three grandchildren, Toni, Damian and Dakota; two brothers, Charlie (Nancy) Hallberg of Milwaukee, WI, and Tom (Laurie) Hallberg of Syracuse, IN; two sisters, Cindy Hallberg of Indianapolis, IN, and Beth Knief of Valparaiso, IN. Carol was preceded in death by her parents. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN where the family will receive friends Sunday, June 28, 2015, from 2:00 pm, until time of service. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Sunday June 28, 2015 at 4:00 pm with Pastor David Banning, officiating.
