Carol Ross

Mrs. Carol A. Ross, 63, of Rolling Prairie, Indiana, died Tuesday November 17, 2009 at La Porte Hospital in La Porte. She was born June 9, 1946 in LaPorte, Indiana, the daughter of Jerry Cornell and Fae Miller Cornell. Carol worked at American Home Foods for seventeen years until they closed; she then worked for Howmet Corp., retiring after working there for twenty-three years. Carol loved to cook for her family, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. On November 17, 1962, in Rolling Prairie, IN, she married Robert J. Ross Sr., who preceded her in death April 15, 2007. She is survived by her son, Robert J. Susan Ross Jr. of New Carlisle, IN; daughter, Rhonda L. Dennis Wilson of Rolling Prairie, IN; three grandchildren, Doug Jamie Brasseur, Beth Dale Howard, Katie Brasseur; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Patricia Scofield of Hudson Lake, IN, Marda Dennis Lentz of South Bend, IN. and Wendy Brian Roseman of LaPorte, IN. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two sisters, Betty Stoner and Billie Jo Schoff. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Friday, November 20, 2009 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm & Saturday, November 21, 2009 from 9:00 am, until time of service. Services will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Saturday November 21, 2009 at 10:30 AM with Pastor Kalvin Morrison officiating.
