Carol Lee Miller was born in La Porte on July 30, 1940 to Earl and Leona Swanson of La Porte. She passed away peacefully at her home in Florida on October 24, 2023 with her son Ron and daughter Patty by her side. She is survived by her children Ron and Kim McCoy and Patty Barnes, grandchildren Michael Sims, Dustin and Jordan McCoy, Kurtis McCoy, and her great-grandson Greyson McCoy, sister Judy Ford, Becky Blake, and brother Dave Swanson. She is preceded in death by her parents and the love of her life and husband Jim Miller, daughter Debbie Sims, sister Nancy Wertz, Shirley Lhotka and brother Bob Swanson and son-in-law Lee Barnes.

They were married on Sunday, June 13 1985 in New Buffalo, MI.

Jim was born June 11th, 1940 and passed away on May 10, 2021. They lived in Florida for over 20 years enjoying their final years together. Carol loved the outdoors enjoyed gardening and working in her flower garden. Jim loved reading and playing gamers on his computer. They both were avid movie watchers and have hundreds of movies they enjoyed together over the years. There was nothing like watching a good movie for them. They would make family calendars each year including nieces and nephews with birth dates and addresses so everyone would have contact information. These were mailed out each year around Christmas to family.

Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN where the family will be conducting a graveside service of cremated remains for Carol and Jim on Saturday, December 30 at Oak Grove Cemetery at 11 AM followed by a luncheon at Aurelio's at 12:30 PM.
