Carlos Gomez, Sr.

Mr. Carlos U. Gomez, Sr., 65, of Michigan City, Indiana, died Sunday April 25, 2010 at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Michigan City. He was born November 4, 1944 in Martindale, Texas, the son of Gregorial Gomez and Augustina Urertta Gomez. Carlos had lived in the LaPorte area for thirty-five years, coming from Rensselaer, Indiana. Carlos worked for Teledyne Casting Service for forty-years, retiring in 2007. He was a member of The Door Church. Carlos enjoyed fishing and working on cars. He is survived by his two sons, Carlos Gomez, Jr., Rudy Teresa Gomez of LaPorte, IN; three daughters, Sarah Gomez of LaPorte, IN, Samantha Tamara Wade Gomez of Springfield, MO, Jeannie Shaun Jones of Seymour, IN; five grandchildren, Ivy Jones, Shaun-Joseph Rubin Jones, Makayla Jones, Aiden Michael Streeting, and Hailei Carbajal. Carlos was preceded in death by his parents; son, Thomas Gomez and several brothers. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. A memorial service will be held at The Door Church 905 W. 22nd St. LaPorte, IN, Saturday May 1, 2010 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Todd Woods officiating. Cremation will take place.
