Carl Niendorf

Mr. Carl F. "Fritz" Niendorf, Jr., 84, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Wednesday June 2, 2010 at Golden Living Center-Countryside in LaPorte. He was born January 28, 1926 in LaPorte, Indiana, the son of Carl Niendorf, Sr. and Jennie Ohime Niendorf. Carl worked thirty-seven years for Allis Chalmers Corp, until they closed. He also worked and retired from Kabelin's Hardware. He was a veteran of US Army during WW II, a member of the North Liberty Mason Lodge, Pinola Grange, and Lincoln Twp. Volunteer Fire Department. Carl loved woodworking and gardening. On May 23, 1953, in LaPorte Co., IN, he married Deloris Rensberger Niendorf who preceded him in death March 29, 1997. He is survived by his daughter-in-law - Yoko Niendorf of Lakewood, WA; three grandchildren - Ruth Arnold, Roy Niendorf, and Patrick Niendorf; five great grandchildren; brother - Jim Pat Niendorf of La Porte, IN, and two nieces and two nephews. Carl was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Deloris Niendorf; son, David Niendorf, and grandchild, Bobby Niendorf. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Monday, June 7, 2010 from 10:00 am, until time of service. A Masonic Service will be conducted on Monday at 11:00 am. The funeral service will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Monday June 7, 2010 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Dennis Meyer officiating. Interment will follow at the Carmel Cemetery, LaPorte, Indiana.
