Carl Fowler

Mr. Carl E. Fowler , 80, of La Porte, Indiana, died Wednesday November 25, 2009 at La Porte Hospital in La Porte. He was born June 9, 1929 in Kingsbury, Indiana, the son of George S. Fowler and Mildred I. Barney Fowler, he lived in the LaPorte area, all of his life. Carl worked for Teledyne Casting Service for 45 years, retiring in 1992. He was a Veteran of the US Army during the Korea Conflict, a member of National Rifle Association. Carl, enjoyed his dog "Roo" and his cat "Hummer", he also enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and traveling. He was a real outdoorsman.. On January 27, 1951, in LaPorte, IN, he married Bernice J. Bent, who preceded him death December 14, 2004. He is survived by his daughter, Esther Fowler-Kluska of La Porte, IN; two sisters Georgiana Roger Wolff of LaPorte, IN, Norma Ness of New Carlisle, IN; brother, James Janet Fowler of Mill Creek, IN.; several nieces and nephews. Carl was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother, John Fowler; sister-in-law, Roberta Fowler and brother-in-law, Ralph Ness. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends, Sunday, November 29, 2009 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm and from 9:00 am Monday, November 30, 2009, until time of services. Services will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Monday November 30, 2009 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Ronald Devenport officiating. A military service will be conducted by the American Legion and V.F.W. Honor Guard at the Tracy Cemetery. Interment will follow at the Tracy Cemetery, Hamlet, Indiana.
