Carl Etzcorn

Mr. Carl R. Etzcorn, 88, of La Porte, Indiana, died Saturday, July 31, 2010 at Golden Living Center-Countryside in La Porte, IN. He was born December 10, 1921 in Constantine, Michigan, the son of George Etzcorn and Lena Henschel Etzcorn. Carl worked as a postal supervisor for U.S. Postal Service for 27 years and retired in 1981. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and National Assoc of Retired Federal Employees. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during W.W. II. On November 25, 1943, in La Porte, IN, he married Ethel N. Waak Etzcorn who preceded him in death June 4, 1992. He is survived by his son - Melvin Neuman of San Jose, CA; three grandchildren - Dan Neuman of Soda Springs, ID, Kathy Neuman of Fair Oaks, CA, Tom Neuman of Salt Lake City, UT; several great grandchildren; brother - Paul E. Etzcorn of VA. Carl was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, John Etzcorn, Raymond Etzcorn, and a sister, Wilma Wagner. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Thursday, August 5, 2010 9:00 am until time of the service. Services will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Thursday August 5, 2010 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Ronald A. Brauer officiating. Interment will follow at the Patton Cemetery, in La Porte, IN.
