Brenda Metcalf

Brenda L. Metcalf July 19, 1947-October 31, 2016 Mrs. Brenda L. Metcalf, 69, of LaPorte, Indiana, passed away Monday October 31, 2016 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka, IN. She was born July 19, 1947 in Harriman, Tennessee, the daughter of Floyd Barger and Carrie (McKinney) Barger. Brenda was a beautician at Donna's Beauty Boutique for over 30 years. She was a member of the American Legion Post #83-Ladies Auxiliary and VFW Post #1130 Ladies Auxiliary where she volunteered a lot of time cooking dinners and helping with Friday Night Bingo. On February 16, 1965, in La Porte, IN, she married Dennis Metcalf who survives. She is also survived by her daughter, Helen M. Metcalf; brother, Steven Barger; two sisters, Elizabeth (Sam) Sellers, Mary Lynn (Jeff) Gifford; two grandchildren, Bryan (Meagan) McDonald, Nicholas McDonald; two great grandchildren, Evelyn, and Grace. Brenda was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Dennis E. Barger and son, Dennis W. Metcalf Jr. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN where the family will receive friends Friday, November 4, 2016 from 9:00 am, until time of service. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Friday November 4, 2016 at 11:00 am with Rev. Sam Sellers officiating. Interment will be held in the Patton Cemetery, LaPorte, Indiana at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the VFW Post #1130 Ladies Aux.
