Billy D. Richardson June 10, 1927-May 16, 2019 Billy D. Richardson, 91, of Rolling Prairie, IN, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2019 at his home in Rolling Prairie, Indiana. He was born June 10, 1927 in La Porte, Indiana, the son of James Richardson and Elizabeth (Lampson) Richardson. Billy retired in 1991 after working 43 years as a tool and dye maker working for U.S. Berkel. He served in the United States Navy during WWII. He was a charter member of the Rolling Prairie VFW Post 9423 and a member of the First Christian Church in Rolling Prairie. Billy enjoyed fishing, golf, watching football, and spending time with his family. On June 24, 1947, in Rolling Prairie, Indiana, he married Patricia (Hickman) Richardson who preceded in death September 19, 1999. He is survived by his brother, Tom (Arlene) Richardson of Niles, MI; four grandchildren, Kevin Richardson of Knox, IN, Melissa Mitchell of Knox, IN, Tiffany Gee of South Bend, IN, Jeffery Houk of Rolling Prairie, IN; Billy was preceded in death by both his parents; son, Larry Richardson, daughter, Penny Houk, two brothers, John Richardson and Donald Richardson, three sisters, Doris Wirich, Joan Persinger, Carol Bledecki; grandson, Jeremy Richardson. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Tuesday, May 21, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor John Marron officiating. Interment will take place at a later date at the Rolling Prairie Cemetery, Rolling Prairie, Indiana. Full military honors will be conducted by the Rolling Prairie VFW Post #9423 honor guard at the funeral home.
