Billy J. Allen July 23, 1957-June 19, 2010 Mr. Billy "Bill" J. Allen , 52, of Union Mills, Indiana, died Saturday June 19, 2010 at his home in Union Mills, IN surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 23, 1957 in La Porte, Indiana, the son of Winford Allen and Barbara Dyer Allen. Billy worked as an independent truck driver. He was a member of Light House Assembly of God Church of Kingsford Heights. Bill was an avid baseball player and he played on several teams in Kingsford Heights. He like fishing with his sons and enjoyed time with his grandchildren. On March 4, 1991, in La Porte, IN, he married Renee Fort Allen who survives. He is also survived by his 2 sons - Jason Allen of La Porte, IN, Chad Allen of Ball State University; 4 daughters - Jamie Allen of St. Petersburg, FL, Dawn Jimmy Lowe of Kingsford Heights, IN, Vicki Nelson of Union Mills, IN, Krystal Fort of Valparaiso, IN; 6 grandchildren; in-laws - Russell and Barbara Fort of Union Mills, IN; 5 sisters - Cheryl Gary Gray of Humble, TX, Barbara Bruce Payne of Mill Creek, IN, Patti Vaughn Galloway of La Porte, IN, Sandy Bert Stringham of La Porte, IN, and Linda Steve Palmer of Rolling Prairie, IN. Billy was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Tuesday, June 22, 2010 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm & Wednesday, June 23, 2010 10:00 am until time of the service. Services will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Wednesday June 23, 2010 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Jason Safirt officiating. Interment will follow at the Kingsbury Cemetery, Kingsbury, IN.
