Biddie Lipscomb

Biddie J. Lipscomb, 81, of La Porte, IN, died Friday April 29, 2011 at Indiana University Health La Porte Hospital. She was born September 26, 1929 in Wayland, Kentucky, the daughter of Mack Hopper and Myrtle (Sloan) Hopper. Biddie worked for Howmet Corp. for over 20 years and retired in 1995. She was a member of La Porte Assembly of God Church. Biddie was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved to cook and bake and enjoyed ceramics, playing board games and Yahtzee. She is survived by her daughter - JoAnn Sparks of Burr Oak, MI; son - Daniel (Connie) Lipscomb of La Porte; 3 Grandchildren - Shawn Sparks, Thomas Lipscomb, Drew Lipscomb all of La Porte; 2 great grandchildren; 2 brothers - Charles (Louise) Hopper of Hanna, IN, James Hopper of Kingsford Heights, IN; and a sister - Peggy (Wesley) Webb of Kingsford Heights, IN. Biddie was preceded in death by her parents. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Tuesday, May 3, 2011 from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm & Wednesday, May 4, 2011 from 12:00 noon until time of the service. Services will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Wednesday May 4, 2011 at 1:30 PM with Rev. Jeff Hines officiating. Interment will follow at the Kingsbury Cemetery, Kingsbury, Indiana.
