Betty J. Towle November 18, 1925-March 5, 2019 Betty J. Towle, 93, of La Porte, IN, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at Golden Living Center in La Porte, IN. She was born November 18, 1925 in La Porte, Indiana, the daughter of William Schweder and Clara (Messmann) Schweder. Betty was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and the Women's Billiards League. She enjoyed playing on her women's billiard league along with playing computer games, cards, dice and other games with her family and friends. She married Harold Towle who preceded her in death. She is survived by her three daughters, Jane Povlock of La Porte, IN, Cathy Bornell of La Porte, IN, Diane Blackmon of La Porte IN; two sons, Charles (Sarah) Towle of La Porte, IN, Kenneth (Vicki) Towle of La Porte, IN; thirteen grandchildren, Louie, Chanda, Jessica, Mark, Clayton, Paul, Tommy, David, Cathy, Cathy, Robert, Phillip, Mike; twenty-eight great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by both her parents, three brothers, Lester, Harold, and Frank Schweder, and three sister, Marie McAllister, Verna Schadowsky, and Esther Pawlowski. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN. A memorial gathering will be held Saturday, March 9, 2019, from 1:00 pm till 3:00 pm at Faith Baptist Church, 933 Nursery Rd. La Porte, IN 46350. A life celebration will be held at Faith Baptist Church, Saturday March 9, 2019 at 3:00 pm with Rev. Eddie Heavner officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Towle family.
