Betty Sies

Mrs. Betty H. Sies, 79, of 1207 F St., LaPorte, died Wednesday February 18, 2004, at 7:15 a.m. at the LaPorte Hospital. She was born April 7, 1924, in LaPorte, IN., to Leonard and Helena Anders Stimley, and had lived here all of her life. Mrs. Sies was an accountant, she was a former President of the V.F.W. Woman?s Auxiliary, she was active in the Cub Scouts and the Girl Scouts, she did a lot of social work and enjoyed traveling, bowling, skeet shooting, golfing, reading and playing cards. Surviving are two daughters, Donna Rudnick of Michigan City and Sandra Palmer of St. Louis, MO.; one brother, John Sies of San Jose, CA.; eight grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Preceded her in death were her parents; one grandson, Kyle Palmer and one brother Leonard Stimley Jr. The funeral will be Monday February 23, 2004, at 11:00 a.m. at Haverstock Funeral Home, LaPorte, with Rev John Mikenas officiating. Friends may call Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and 9:00 a.m. Monday until time of the service. Cremation will follow.
