Betty Shoffner

Mrs. Betty L. Shoffner, age 68, of 9142 S. US 35, Hamlet, Ind., died Saturday, September 17, 2005, at 1:03 PM at LaPorte Hospital in La Porte, Ind. She was born March 5, 1937 in LaFollette, TN to the late Oscar Evans and the late Cleo Fortner Evans. She has lived in the Hamlet area for 48 years coming from LaFollette, TN. Mrs. Shoffner was employed by Wells Aluminum and was a member of Tracy United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Kingsford Heights American Legion Auxilliary, she was an avid bowler on several bowling leagues for 20 years, she had been awarded many trophys, she loved reading, crocheting, gardening, and being with her grandchildren. On January 30, 1958 in LaFollette, TN she married Richard Shoffner who survives. Also surviving are Two Daughters, Mrs. Sharon Jerry Ratliff of Rolling Prairie, Ind., Mrs. Karen Darrell Gray of La Porte, Ind.; Five Grandchildren, Ross Ratliff, Dienna Ratliff, Richard Gray, Ryan Gray, Michael Gray; One Brother, Mr. Wallace Evans of Anderson, Ind. She was preceded in death by per her parents; One Sister, Mabel Evans; Three Brothers, Hollis Evans, Wayne Evans, and Kermit Evans. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 & 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday, September 20, 2005 and from 9:00 AM Wednesday September 21, 2005 until time of the service at the funeral home. Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home at 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 21, 2005 , Rev. Dorothy Jones officiating. Interment will be at Kingsbury Cemetery in Kingsbury, Ind.
