The funeral for Mrs. Betty J. Schultz, 57, of 3622E CR-900N, Rolling Prairie, will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Haverstock Funeral Home, LaPorte. She died Friday, Aug. 20, 2004, at LaPorte Hospital. Friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m., with an Eastern Star service at 7 p.m. and a Daughters of the Nile service at 7:30 p.m.; and Thursday from 9 a.m. until the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor?s choice. She was born Jan. 16, 1947, in Webster County, W.Va., to Benjamin and Madgie Kniceley Casto, and had lived here for nine years, coming from Calumet Township, Ind. Mrs. Schultz was a homemaker and a member of Order of the Eastern Star Chapters 582 of Rolling Prairie and 320 of New Carlisle, and Daughters of the Nile Aretas Temple of Michigan City. She enjoyed sewing. On Sept. 10, 1992, in Crown Point, Ind., she married James E. Schultz, who survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Regina Garrett of West Virginia; one son, Jeff Vanessa Foster of Hammond; three stepdaughters; one stepson; 13 grandchildren; one sister; seven brothers; one half-sister; and two half-brothers.
