Betty Gropp

Mrs. Betty J. Gropp, age 80, of 911 Virginia Ave., La Porte, Ind., died Saturday, January 14, 2006, at 8:30 AM at LaPorte Hospital in La Porte, Ind. She was born April 19, 1925 in LaPorte, Ind. to the late William VanSleet and the late Maude Rootes VanSleet. She has been a life long resident of the LaPorte area. Mrs. Gropp was employed as a driver and dispatcher by United Cab for over 20 years. She was a Veteran of the WAC's during WW II. On May 28, 1949 in LaPorte, Ind. she married Roland Gropp who survives. She is also survived by her Three Sons, Mr. Jerrold L. Cynthia Gropp of Hudson, Ohio, Mr. Ronald W. Helen Krueger of Mesquite, Texas, Mr. Jack Kathy Runion of Valparaiso, Ind.; and Five grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and one Brother Vernon Gaw. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday, January 17, 2006 and 10:00 AM Wednesday until time of the service. Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc. at 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 18, 2006. Interment will be at Patton Cemetery in La Porte, Ind.
