Bertha M. Jackson August 29, 1919-March 24, 2015 Mrs. Bertha M. Jackson, 95, of La Porte, Indiana, died Tuesday March 24, 2015 at Indiana University Health La Porte Hospital. She was born August 29, 1919 in Plymouth, Indiana, the daughter of George Weigle and Ada (Cox) Weigle. Bertha was a loving homemaker. She was a member of First Church of God in La Porte. Bertha loved to travel and cook. She especially loved sharing time with her family. On December 24, 1943, in South Bend, IN, she married Harmon Jackson who preceded her in death June 21, 1980. She is survived by her son, Roger L. (Pam) Rosebush of Argos, IN; five daughters, Mabel F. Jackson of La Porte, IN, Madelyn C. Jackson of Hopaimsville, KY, Martha A. (Larry) Gillen of Puyallup, WA, Rebecca L. Groll of Tacoma, WA, Tina J. (Pete) Jackson Reed of St. Austine, FL; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 5 great great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Bertha was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother, Leroy C. Weigle. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Friday, March 27, 2015, 11:00 am until time of service. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Friday March 27, 2015 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Roger Ash officiating. Interment will follow at the Patton Cemetery, La Porte, Indiana.
