Bertha Edmonds

Mrs. Bertha L. Edmonds, age 77, of La Porte, Ind., died 2:02 AM Saturday, June 28, 2008, at LaPorte Hospital. She was born December 22, 1930 in Lexington Co. SC to the late Nealy Rikard and the late Cordia Allwine Rikard. She has lived in the LaPorte area for 54 years coming from South Carolina. Mrs. Edmonds a homemaker and was a member of First Baptist Church. She loved to cook and sew. She was very active with the Church, and she co-ran the Kitchen at the church for many years. On September 5, 1954 in Tennessee she married Sammie R. Edmonds who preceded in death December 8, 1991. She is survived by her Daughter, Ms. Donna Edmonds of Nashville, Tenn. She was blessed with many friends including Larry Shannon and his family along with many church family friends. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, July 1, 2008 and from 10:00 AM Tuesday until time of the service. Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc. at 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 2, 2008, Rev. Doug Ohime officiating. Interment will be at Pine Lake Cemetery in LaPorte, Ind.
