Berny Beck

Mrs. Berny Beck, age 84, of La Porte, Ind., died 9:00 AM Monday, April 7, 2008, at her home in La Porte, Ind. She was born November 6, 1923 in Stavanger, Norway to the late Trgve Pedersen and the late Gudrun Solskur Pedersen. She has lived most of her life in the LaPorte area. Mrs. Beck was meat wrapper at Five Star Grocery Store for fourteen years and retired in 1975. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, the Viking Club of Chicago, Illinois and she enjoyed knitting and reading. On December 21, 1946 in Leksand, Sweden she married Gunner Beck, who survives. She is also survived by One Son, Mr. James Richard Beck, Sr. of La Porte, Ind.; Three grandchildren Anthony "Tony" Beck of LaPorte, Jennifer Beck of LaPorte, James Beck Jr. of LaPorte and Four great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her Parents; One Son Mr. Jan Gunner Beck and One Brother Mr. Harry P. Beck. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., Graveside Funeral service will be at Carmel Cemetery at 3:00 PM Thursday, April 10, 2008, Chris Buresh officiating.
