Bernice Cabanaw

Miss Bernice Mary Cabanaw, age 95, of La Porte, Ind., died Saturday, December 9, 2006, at Fountainview Terrace in LaPorte, She was born March 7, 1911 in LaPorte, Ind. to the late Noah Cabanaw and the late Bessie Richter Cabanaw. Miss Cabanaw started her career right after graduating from High School with Western Union in Richmond, Ind., she was transferred to Detroit, Mich. and then to Chicago, Ill. and retired on May 1, 1971. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ. She is also survived by the following relatives, Mrs. Kay Anderson of LaPorte, Mrs. Cile Konowitz of LaPorte, Mr. Jim Anderson of LaPorte, Mrs. Sue Miller of LaPorte, Mr. Jim Brummit of Indianapolis, IN., Dan Reimink of LaPorte, Cathy Schultz of Saint Augustine, Fl., Mrs. Janet Wooden of LaPorte, Mrs. Karen Dunfee of LaPorte and Mr. Chris Carpenter of LaPorte. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM Monday, December 11, 2006. Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc. at 6:00 PM Monday, December 11, 2006, Rev. Helen Nusbaum officiating. Interment will be at Pine Lake Cemetery in La Porte, Ind.
