Barbara J. Younggreen April 7, 1934-June 22, 2016 Barbara J. Younggreen age 82, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 surrounded by her loving children. She is survived by her sons, James (Patricia) Hardin and Jeffery (Annette) Hardin; daughters, Deborah (Delbert) Allen and Patricia Wegiel; grandchildren, Derek (Megan) Allen, Darren (Naoka) Allen, Daniel (Jessica) Allen, Michael (fiance Sarah) Hardin, Brian (Kaity) Hardin, Andrew Hardin, Katie (Josh) Van Schoyck, Heather (Allen) Stevens, Nikki Lubelski, Stephanie (Josh) Jones, Brad (Stephanie) Hardin, Kelli (Chad) Salyer and Kevin Hardin; 15 great grandchildren; sisters, Joan Vance and Muriel (Dave) Juarez; brothers, Edmund (Shirley) Castle, Gerry (Clara) Castle and Ronald (Robin) Castle; many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Preceded in death by her husband, Hal Younggreen and her former husband and father to their children, James Hardin and sister, Ginny Albertson. Barbara was born on April 7, 1934 in Chicago. IL to Leslie and Agnes Castle. On November 5, 1951 in Kingsford Heights, IN she married James Hardin and together they raised four children. She was employed as a custodian at Union Township and Kingsford Heights Elementary, a director of Real Services in Union Mills and worked various other jobs throughout her life. She enjoyed traveling to Florida with her family, playing her computer games and feeding her birds. Barbara was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother and will truly be missed by all whose lives she touched. A Memorial Gathering will be held on Sunday, June 26, 2016 from 1:00-5:00 PM at Haverstock Funeral Home 602 Maple Avenue LaPorte, IN.
