Barbara Ratliff

Mrs. Barbara L. Ratliff, 81, of Rolling Prairie, Indiana, died Friday July 2, 2010 at Hamilton Communities, Inc. in New Carlisle, IN. She was born July 25, 1928 in La Porte, Indiana, the daughter of Daniel W. Keller and Mary Gertrude Byerley Keller. Barbara worked as a homemaker. She was a member of Navy Wives Club. She met monthly with a group she graduated from high school with. On October 24, 1953, in La Porte, she married Gerald Ratliff who survives. She is also survived by her son - Gerald R. Sharon Ratliff of Rolling Prairie, IN; daughter - Mary Beth Szabo of Rolling Prairie, IN; 7 Grandchildren - Ross Ratliff, Deanna Ratliff, Stephanie Szabo, Megan Szabo, Shannon Szabo, Caitlin Szabo, Gretchen Szabo; brother - Howard Keller of Michigan City, IN; 2 sisters - Aliene Renz of Rolling Prairie, IN, Dorothy Hope of Charlotte, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews. Barbara was preceded in death by her 3 sisters, Aletha Shipton, Helen Lewellen, Marguerite Kellogg, 5 brothers, Omer Keller, Herschel Keller, Gerald Keller, Ray Keller, and Leon Keller. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Tuesday, July 6, 2010 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm & Wednesday, July 7, 2010 from 10:00 am until time of the service. Services will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Wednesday July 7, 2010 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Dorothy Jones officiating. Interment will follow at the Foster Cemetery, La Porte, Indiana.
