Barbara Jean Keller-Martin, 73, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Tuesday October 18, 2022 at Northwest Health- La Porte, IN.

She was born September 22, 1949 in South Bend, Indiana, the daughter of William Emery Smith and Hazel Irene (Lichtenbarger) Smith.

On May 27, 1989, at the Gazebo at Washington Park in Michigan City, she married Dallas M.  Martin who survives.

Barbara has lived in the South Bend and La Porte area all of her life, and was self-employed as a cook.  She loved spending time with here grandkids and great-grand kids.  Barbara enjoyed gardening, especially plants and flowers, riding dune buggies and strolling around in her scooter. She loved the challenge of a good jigsaw puzzle and would complete one on a weekly basis.

She is also survived by her two daughters, Barbra (Art) Kaufman of La Porte, IN, Toni Zahrn of La Porte, IN; son, Kenny Vogel of South Bend, IN; five grandchildren, Austin Vogel, Katrina (Justin Carpenter) Correia, Anecio (Elizabeth) Zahrn, Zakariah (Brandy Harshman) Zahrn, Dorian (Kennedy Bellegiante) Luther; two great-grandchildren, Elliot, Leonides;

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents.

Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN.  Cremation will take place.
