Barbara Hooten-Veirs

Barbara Hooten-Veirs November 1, 1927 - March 4, 2016 Barbara Veirs age 88, peacefully passed away on Friday, March 4, 2016. She is survived by her sisters in law, Ethel Hooten and Betty Hooten; devoted nephew, Corey Hooten; step children, Karen Marie Cooley and Ronald Allen Veirs and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, Schuyler and Ida Hooten; 2 husbands; 3 sisters and 4 brothers. Barbara was born in Mill Creek, IN on November 1, 1927 and graduated from Mill Creek High School. She retired from American Home Foods in 1984. Barbara enjoyed puzzles, traveling with her husband and loved to eat dinner out. Barbara was a loving daughter, sister, wife and aunt who will truly be missed by all whose lives she touched. The family expresses a heartfelt thanks to the staff at Brentwood for the care given to Barbara. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Haverstock Funeral Home 602 Maple Avenue LaPorte, IN with Rev. John Marron officiating. Interment to follow at Pine Lake Cemetery, LaPorte. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Tuesday morning from 10:00 AM until time of funeral service.
