Augusta Hunt

Mrs. Augusta H. Hillsman Hunt, age 80, of Vernon Court, Kingsford Heights, Ind., died Friday, June 3, 2005, at LaPorte Hospital in LaPorte, Ind. She was born Aug. 1, 1924, in McLemoresville, TN. to the late Carnell Hillsman and the late Willie Moore Hillsman. She has lived in Kingsford Heights since 1952 coming from Tennessee. Mrs. Hunt was employed by Beatty Memorial Hospital for 23 years and retired in 1978. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Kingsford Heights and a former member of Boy's Club, NAACP, Eastern Star of Michigan City, IN. She was married on November 30, 1942 in Huntington, Tenn. to D. H. Hunt who preceded in death Jan. 19, 2000. She is also survived by her Two Sons, Mr. Jerry Margaret Hunt of Kingsford Heights, Ind., Jerry W. Hunt of Kingsford Heights, Ind.; Four Sisters, Mrs. Lenora Greer of Kingsford Heights, Ind., Mrs. Ethel Nash of Huntington, Tenn., Mrs. Maggie Thomas of Trabuco Canyon, Calif., Sister-Mrs. Willa Lipkins of Benton Harbor, Mich.; Two grandchildren, Bradford Hunt of Kingsford Heights, IN, Krystal RodneyRichard of Kingsford Heights, IN.; Three great-grandchildren, Avery Simpson, Tyrelle Hunt, and Kiersten Richard. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, June 8, 2005. Funeral service will be at First Baptist Church of Kingsford Heights at 1:00 PM Thursday, June 9, 2005 , Rev. Dwight Gardner and Rev. John T. Talley II officiating. Interment will be at Pine Lake Cemetery in LaPorte, Ind. Memorial Contributions may be made the the American Lung Assoc. or the American Cancer Society.
