Audrey Klooster

Audrey M. Klooster, age 85, of La Porte, Ind., died 5:30 PM Thursday, February 28, 2008, at her home in La Porte, Ind. She was born on July 10, 1922 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin to the late Anthony Van Beukering and the late Emily Schwandt Van Beukering. She has lived in the LaPorte area since 1957 coming from New York. She was a member of the LaPorte Seventh-day Adventist Church. She graduated in 1940 from Muskegon Heights High School. She attended Emmanuel Missionary College 1945-1947 Now Andrews University and received a Nursing degree in 1947 from Hinsdale Sanitarium. She was a member of LaPorte Service League, LaPorte Co. Chapter of the American Red Cross, and Meals on Wheels. On February 23, 1947 in Muskegon, Michigan she married John E. Klooster who preceded in death March 31, 2006. She is survived by her Daughter, Janet Lee Klooster of Daytona Beach Shores, Florida; Son, John Conrad Amy Klooster of Carmel, Indiana; Two grandchildren, Brittany Ann Klooster and Danielle Vivian Klooster of Carmel, Indiana; Sister-in-law Mrs. Betty Klooster Kidder of Candler, N.C.; and a Brother, Mr. Anthony Tony Van Beukering of Battle Creek, Mich. She is preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, Two Sisters, Patricia Van Beukering Snowfleet and Valzora Van Beukering Bourdon. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Sunday, March 2, 2008 and from the Seventh-day Adventist Church from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM Monday, March 3, 2008. Funeral service will be at the LaPorte Seventh-day Adventist Church at 3:00 PM Monday, March 3, 2008, Pastor Joshua Lizarraga, officiating. Interment of ashes will be at Salem Cemetery in La Porte, Ind. at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to: American Red-Cross LaPorte Co. Chapter 113 Warren Rd.
