Arthur Wasielewski

Mr. Arthur F. Wasielewski Sr. 74 of Rolling Prairie, died Sunday July 11, 2004 At 10:10 A.M. at the LaPorte Hospital. He was born on April 1, 1930 in Chicago, Illinois To Andrew and Magdalena BaranWasielewski. Mr. Wasielewski has lived in the Rolling Prairie area since 1956. Art was the owner and operator of Art?s Standard Service Station and Bait Shop of Rolling Prairie for 36yrs. He served his country as a Marine in the Korean conflict. He was a member of the Rolling Prairie United Methodist Church for 48yrs, the Rolling Prairie Lions Club for 28yrs, and was awarded the Gleaners award for volunteerism. He was known for his cooking talents especially at the LaPorte County Fairs Rolling Prairie Church bldg. for 28yrs. On February 8, 1948 he married Iva KieferWasielewski in Chicago, Illinois who still survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Roxanna of LaPorte, Karen Glenn Swanson of LaPorte. Two Sons, Arthur Wasielewski Jr. of Rolling Prairie and David Sandy Wasielewski also of Rolling Prairie. Grandchildren, Kevin Swanson of South Bend, Mike Swanson of Lakewood, Ohio, JenniferBrianGoodspeed of Indianapolis, David Wasielewski and Steven Wasielewski both of Rolling Prairie, Brian Wasielewski of Michigan City, and Amanda Lullenberg of LaPorte. Mr. Wasielewski also has four Great Grandchildren, Olivia, Jacob, Aaron and Kaitlyn. A Brother, John Wasielewski of San Francisco, California and a Sister, Cecilia Ligittino of Chicago, Illinois. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by several Brothers and Sisters. Art was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, and Foster Father. He loved old cars, fishing and His Lord Jesus Christ. He will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Rolling Prairie United Methodist Church. Friends may call at the Haverstock Funeral Home on Tuesday July 13, 2004 from 1:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and again on Wednesday July 14, 2004 at the Rolling Prairie United Methodist Church from 9:00 A.M. until service time at 11:00A.M. The Funeral Service will be conducted at the Rolling Prairie United Methodist Church on Wednesday July 14, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. Rev. David Tripp will officiate.
