Arthur P. Heminger June 25, 1919-March 17, 2017 Mr. Arthur P. Heminger, 97, of New Carlisle, Indiana, passed away Friday, March 17, 2017 at his home in New Carlisle, Indiana. He was born June 25, 1919 in Solway, Minnesota to the late William and Nelly (Rogers) Heminger. Arthur retired after working 32 years at Bendix Corporation. He served in the United States Army during World War II, he helped General Dean of the 44th Division escape a artillery barrage South of France. He was a member of the Hudson Lake Mennonite Church. and the Rolling Prairie VFW Post #9423. He enjoyed fishing, and enjoyed reading. Arthur was a master craftsman in carpentry. On June 4, 1949, in La Porte, Indiana, he married Shirley E. (Tibbs) Heminger who preceded him in death July 30, 2016. He is survived by his three sons, Wayne (Roberta) Heminger of Goodland, IN, Garry (Sandra) Heminger of South Bend, IN, Matthew (Scott) Heminger of New Carlisle, IN; son-in-law, Gary Bee; three daughters, Linda (Bradley) Kenyon of Athens, MI, Elizabeth "Ann" (Michael) Bromley of New Carlisle, IN, Ruth Heminger of New Carlisle, IN; fifteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, JoEllen Bee. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN. A life celebration will be held at Hudson Lake Mennonite Church, 7503 N. Walker Rd., Hudson Lake, IN. 46552, Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. (CST) with Pastor Esther Lanting officiating.
