Arden Creed

Mr. Arden Otis Creed, age 85, of LaPorte, Ind., died Tuesday, December 16, 2008, at his residence in LaPorte, Ind. He was born on September 15, 1923 in Newton, Ill. to the late Elmer Creed and the late Mary Thompson Creed. Arden moved to LaPorte, Ind. in 1942, coming from Illinois. Mr. Creed was employed by Modine Mfg. Co. for forty-two years and retiring in 1985. He loved to play pool and was an avid golfer. Arden loved being with his family and grandchildren. On October 21, 1941 in Marshall, Illinois, he married Edith Meyers, who preceded, December 3, 2005. He is survived by his; One Daughter, Twila Kenneth Watt of La Porte, Ind.; One Son, Larry Arden Creed of La Porte, Ind. Five grandchildren; Eight great-grandchildren; Two Sisters, Lavera Aaron of Kokomo, Ind., Avis Musgrave of Robinson, Ill.; One Brother, Douglas Creed of Chesterton, Ind. He is preceded in death by his parents; Wife, Edith Creed; Son, Ronald Creed; Two Brother, Alawshes Creed, Warren Creed and One Sister, Alvena Christine. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, December 18, 2008 and from 12:30 PM Friday, December 19, 2008. Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc. at 1:30 PM Friday, December 19, 2008 , Rev. Carl Galloway, officiating. Burial will be at Pine Lake Cemetery in LaPorte, Ind.
