Anthony Drees

Mr. Anthony J. Drees, age 83, of 1211 Longwood Dr., La Porte, Ind., died Wednesday, January 18, 2006, at 8:10 AM at LaPorte Hospital in La Porte, Ind. He was born May 6, 1922 in Carroll, Iowa to the late Andrew Drees and the late Hazel Black Drees. He has live in the LaPorte area for 2 years coming from Park Ridge, Illinois. Mr. Drees was employed by General Motors as a District Manager and was a car dealership owner; he received numerous Top Sales Awards and District Manager Award. He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church. He was a Veteran of US Army during WW II as a Corporal, he was a tank driver in the 3rd Armor Div. Battle of the Bulge, and a member of the VFW. ON November 2, 1946 in Chicago, Illinois he married Evelyn Doehling who survives. He is also survived by his One Daughter, Mrs. Lyn Drees Batzer of La Porte, Ind.; Two grandchildren, Kristen Batzer and Scott Batzer. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. A Memorial Service will be held at the Bethany Lutheran Church at 11:00 AM Friday, January 27, 2006.
