 Anna Lee (Sutherland) Buford was born on October 1, 1941 in Cumberland, Tennessee. The daughter of the late Winnie (Hendon) and Luther Sutherland, Anna married the late Clarence Wayne Buford on December 23, 1958. She died in her Kingsford Heights, IN home on April 4, 2024. Anna is survived by her sons, Greg (Kathy) Buford, Donald (Nancy) Buford, and Ronald Buford and grandchildren Melissa, Gregory Jr., and Hayley and six great grandchildren She is also survived by brother Ellis (Linda) Sutherland and many nieces and nephews. Anna enjoyed square dancing with her husband Wayne and countless friends. She also did the bookkeeping for the family businesses and was known as a stickler for housekeeping and appearances. Despite many years in Northwest Indiana, Anna maintained her charming Southern accent with many trips home to Tennessee. Arrangements are being overseen by Haverstock Funeral Home at 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN. Cremation has already taken place and a memorial gathering will be announced at a later time.
