Mrs. Ann K. Bennitt, 88, of LaPorte, Indiana, died Saturday January 30, 2010 at La Porte Hospital. She was born August 27, 1921 in Winthrop, Minnesota, the daughter of Paul J. Kamradt and Mary Pausch Kamradt. She moved to the LaPorte area in 1943 coming from Minnesota. Ann worked as a Bus Driver for LaPorte Community School Corp. for 30 years and retired in1992 and she worked as a custodian at Bethany Lutheran Church for 30 years. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church; she made hospital visits for the church and visited with shut-in church members. Ann was a member of the Couples Club of the church. On, June 16, 1943 in Minneapolis MN, she married Thomas E. Graham who preceded in death July 1, 1962. She remarried December 24, 1964 in LaPorte, IN to Kenneth S. Bennitt who preceded in death April 17, 1993. She is survived by her two sons Paul Cheri Graham of Fairport,, NY, Dean Pat Graham of La Porte, IN; one daughter Nancy Walter of Clearwater, FL; thirteen grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren and four nieces and nephews. Ann was preceded in death by her husbands, parents, daughter, Sandra Garab, and two brothers. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Monday, February 1, 2010 from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm & Tuesday, February 02, 2010 10:00 am until time of the service at Bethany Lutheran Church. Services will be held at Bethany Lutheran Church, Tuesday February 2, 2010 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Dennis Meyer officiating. Interment will follow at the Carmel Cemetery, LaPorte, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bethany Lutheran Church Building fund, Bethany Lutheran Church Foundation, 102 G St., LaPorte, IN 46350 or the VNA Hospice of Michigan City, IN.
