Andrew Petros

Mr. Andrew James Petros, age 74, of La Porte, Ind., died Sunday, October 26, 2008, at his residence in La Porte, Ind. He was born on December 28, 1933 in La Porte, Ind. to the late James M. Petros and the late Panayota Philopoulous Petros and had lived in the La Porte, Ind. area, most of his life. He attended the Holy Trinity Orthodox Church of Michigan City. He graduated from La Porte High School in. He attended Arkansas University on a football scholarship and also attended the Milwaukee School of Engineering. He recently was voted into La Porte High School Football Hall of Fame. Andrew Volunteered for the draft and was a Veteran of US Army during the Korea Conflict. He was the Prior owner of the Town & County Publishing Co. also was currently an employee of Athentic, Inc. as a managing editor. He loved being with family and friends while dining on delicious foods and drink. He was as avid golfer and was a participant of the local pipe shop. On July 22, 2005 in La Porte, Ind., he married Judy Christian Carlson, who survives in La Porte, Ind. He is also survived by One Son, Thomas Andrew Petros of San Diego, Calif.; Four Step-sons, Pat Klein of New York, N.Y., Terry Klein of New Zealand, James Klein of Tampa, Fla., Scott Carlson of La Porte, Ind.; Three Step-Daughters, Debbie Klein of Tampa, Fla., Kim Kip Bell of La Porte, Ind., Jennifer Scott Adrian of Saugany Lake, Ind.; Three Grandchildren, Nicholas, Cassy Carlson of La Porte, Ind. and Jillian Bell of La Porte, Ind. Two Sisters, Aspasia John Fritz of La Porte, Ind., Helen Ed Mandeville of Palm City, Fla.; Two Brothers, Michael Nancy Petros of Melbourne, Fla., Peter Carol Petros of Stevensville, Mich. Preceded in death by his parents, and one brother; George James Petros. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, October 29, 2008 and from 9:00 AM, until time of service on Thursday, October 30, 2008. Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc. at 11:00 AM Thursday, October 30, 2008, with Father Lev, officiating. Burial will be in Pine Lake Cemetery, La Porte, Ind. The Holy Trinity Orthodox Church will conduct a memorial service Wednesday at 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
