Alta Mccarty

Mrs. Alta L. McCarty, age 84, of La Porte, Ind., died 2:50 AM Saturday, August 19, 2006, at LaPorte Hospital in La Porte, Ind. She was born June 19, 1922 in Scranton North Dakota to the late Lloyd Paxton and the late Arzerna Higgens Paxton. She has been a life long resident of the LaPorte area. McCarty was a homemaker and she was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. On March 16, 1946 in Union Mills, Ind. she married Raymond D. McCarty who preceded her in death November 16, 1999. She is survived by her Daughter, Mrs. Sue E. Chris Frank of La Porte, Ind.; Two Sons, Mr. Robert P. Judy McCarty of Jasper, Ind., Mr. Raymond A. Genevieve McCarty of La Porte, Ind.; Nine grandchildren; and Twenty Three great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, One Grandson; and Two Sisters, Mrs. Esther Ruder and Mrs. Helen Wiltfong. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, August 22, 2006 and from 8:00 AM until time of the service on Wednesday. Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc. at 10:30 AM Wednesday, August 23, 2006. Interment will be at Pine Lake Cemetery in LaPorte, Ind.
