Allen L Northern March 23, 1959-May 10, 2013 Allen L Northern, 54, of La Porte, Indiana, died Friday May 10, 2013 at Indiana University Health La Porte Hospital. He had lived in the LaPorte area, since 1991, coming from Arizona. He was born March 23, 1959 in Indianapolis, Indiana, the son of Alvin Northern and Bertha Northern. Allen worked as a safety director for Nova Bella. He enjoyed his work, with the teaching and the traveling that came with it. He also enjoyed camping, fishing and working on and restoring cars. He is survived by his 2 sons - Allen (Sara Ramsey) Northern of La Porte, IN, Jason Dicken of Indianapolis, IN; 3 daughters - Amber (Chad) McGuire of La Porte, IN, Malinda (Jeremy) Johnson of Indianapolis, IN, April Strauch of Indianapolis, IN; 7 grandchildren; Elise, Elexis, Christian, Gabriel, Jasmine, Madison and Jordan; cousin - Michael Northern of La Porte, IN. and in-laws, Clarence and Judith Novak, of LaPorte, IN. Allen was preceded in death by his parents and step-mother, Sondra. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN. There will be no visitations or services. Cremation will take place. Memorial contributions may be made to the Family of Allen L. Northern.
