Allen Hill

Mr. Allen F. Hill, 70, of La Porte, IN, passed away on Sunday June 5, 2011 at Indiana University Health La Porte Hospital. He was born June 24, 1940 in LaPorte, Indiana, the son of Fred Hill and Jennie (Moore) Hill. Allen had worked at Clark Equipment, Joy Manufacturing and in purchasing for Sullair Corp, retiring in 2001. He was a member of the PNA Club, Legacy Golf Course, and as a teenager, he belonged to the Westsiders Car Club He graduated from LaPorte High School in 1959. Allen enjoyed doing woodworking in his garage, hunting, fishing and playing golf. When someone needed something repaired, they would come to Al, especially the grandchildren. On August 12, 1961, in LaPorte, IN, he married Marilyn Schwarzkopf Hill who survives. He is also survived by his daughter - Lori Hill of La Porte, IN; two sons - Mark (Lesa) Hill of La Porte, IN, Scott (Kim) Hill of La Porte, IN; six grandchildren, Jesse, Marissa, Tanner, Rachel, Jacob, and Leeann. Allen was preceded in death by his parents. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Wednesday, June 8, 2011 from 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm & Thursday, June 9, 2011 from 10:00 am, until time of services. Services will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Thursday June 9, 2011 at 11:00 am with Rev. Ronald A. Brauer officiating. Cremation will take place.
