Alice Wilhelm

Alice V. Wilhelm, 102, of LaPorte, Indiana, died Wednesday September 29, 2010 at LaPorte Hospital. She was born March 11, 1908 in LaPorte Co., Indiana, the daughter of Charles F. Schwenk and Alvenia Timm Schwenk. Her mother passed away when she was eleven days old. Alice was raised by her paternal grandparents, Charles and Barbara Gropp Schwenk. Alice was a homemaker. She was a member of the New Carlisle Community Church of New Carlisle; IN. Alice was a graduate of the Class of 1927 at Rolling Prairie High School. On September 22, 1933, in Crown Point, IN, she married Howard O. Wilhelm who preceded her in death July 10, 1963. She is survived by her four cousins - Glen Schwenk, Thelma Eichinger, Velma Miller, Marian Schwenk, and numerous second cousins. Alice was preceded in death by her parents, husband and six cousins, John, Donald, Charles, Thornton, Ward and Ernest Schwenk. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. There will be no visitation. A Graveside Service will be held at Patton Cemetery, Monday October 4, 2010 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Doug Baker officiating. Family and friends will be leaving Haverstock Funeral Home at 10:00 am, going to Patton Cemetery. Interment will follow at the Patton Cemetery.
